‘Hof van Gelre’ 45 Apartments Center Geldermalsen

On the edge of the center of Geldermalsen, the location of the former Rabobank has been redeveloped into a high-quality residential location with 45 apartments.
In terms of urban planning, a connection was sought within the structure and character of the immediate environment; this has led to a design with 2 residential buildings that have a clearly recognizable spatial and architectonic relationship with the historical centre of Geldermalsen.

The residential buildings focus on the three surrounding streets and enclose a common courtyard that is connected by a passage between the two buildings with a triangular garden at the front. The architecture refers to the period in which much of the historic center was realized.
In the design an image has been created in which both buildings form a composition of different buildings. This image is reinforced by the individual character of the facades and by the use of different colors of brick and roof tiles. A spacious garage has been realized underneath both buildings with 53 parking spaces and storages
.
A great deal of attention was paid to careful, sustainable materialization and detailing at urban and architectural level. This high-quality design has been created to meet the requirements of modern, urban living and to connect to the historic character of the center of Geldermalsen.
